Fingerprint Registry
Terms of Service
Last updated June 2026
By using Fingerprint Registry you agree to these terms. Please read them along with the Privacy Policy.
The service
We record SHA-256 fingerprints in a public, append-only ledger with RFC 3161 timestamps from an independent authority. The service is provided as is. We work to keep it available and accurate.
What a record proves
A record shows that a fingerprint was registered at a given time. It does not prove authorship, ownership, truthfulness or the original creation date, and it is not legal advice. Whether a record is accepted as evidence is up to the court or person reviewing it.
Your content
You are responsible for what you register, store or publish. Do not register or store unlawful content, content you have no right to share, or other people's personal data without permission. Entries on the public ledger cannot be removed.
Credits and payments
Credits are prepaid, have no cash value and do not expire unless we tell you otherwise. A credit is used when an action succeeds; if it fails, the credit is returned. Anyone who has a credit key can spend its credits, so keep it safe; we cannot replace credits spent by someone who had your key. Refund requests can be sent to 8samples8@gmail.com and are handled under the consumer laws that apply to you.
Acceptable use
Do not try to break, overload, probe or bypass the security of the service, guess keys or codes, alter or forge records, or use it to harass anyone. We may block access that puts the service or other users at risk.
Evidence collection
By using the service you agree that we record evidence of mismatched or tampered data and suspected attacks, including what was submitted, the time, the IP address and the browser details, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may keep this evidence and share it with law enforcement or a court where the law requires or allows it.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where you live, if you live in Canada, the United States or the United Kingdom, and disputes may be brought in the courts there. [Have this clause reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it.]
Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will show the date at the top. Questions: 8samples8@gmail.com.
